Vehicle Description 1976 Chevrolet Monte Carlo - Landau edition - Firethorn Red.
I am the second owner of this car.
I purchased it in 1980.
I saw it on my local Chevy dealership's used car lot and immediately fell in love with it.
After owning this car for 41
years it's time to allow someone else the pride and joy of owning and driving this American classic.
A meticulous restoration was finished in 2008 using original parts, NOS, where possible.
This car has the Landau package, with the deluxe/luxury interior option, and came with nearly every factory option available in 1976:

small block with 4-barrel carburetor (it has the rare 1976 LT4 option) - Limited slip/Positrac differential - Power moonroof/skyroof/sunroof - Swivel bucket seats with center console and GM slapstick shifter - Tilt steering wheel - Electric windows - Electric door locks - Electric trunk release - Electric rear window defogger - Lighting, auxiliary lighting in engine compartment, trunk, glove box, kick panel area - Headlamps On buzzer - Intermittent wipers - Rally sport mirrors with remote controls for both driver and passenger side - Power front disc brakes - Bumper impact strips, front and rear - Bumper guards, front and rear - Gauges, Instrument panel - Wood grain gauge cluster and shifter plate - Trunk carpet lining - Cruise control - Air Conditioning - Visor vanity mirror, driver's side - Etc.
The interior seat cloth, headliner, and Landau vinyl materials iare all NOS factory over-run original production materials and are the original material and colors for this car and it's upholstered how it was equipped from the factory and sold by the dealer.
All exterior and interior colors are the original GM colors for this car and is how this car was color-schemed from the factory.
All factory badging, emblems, and Monte Carlo scripts are in place and properly located.
Most GM decals and stickers are also present and properly located.

42 differential gears replaced the stock 2.
73 gear set - 10-Bolt TA Performance Aluminum Rearend Differential Girdle Cover - 700R4 four-speed overdrive transmission custom built and expertly installed by Phoenix Transmissions, Weatherford, TX, replacing the stock TH-350 three speed transmission - Tachometer from a 1973 Monte Carlo replaced the stock 1976 Econo vacuum gauge - Engine overhauled with the following performance additions:
o 2658H High Energy Competition Cam o Eddelbrock Performer Intake o Eddelbrock 1046 600CFM Carburetor with electric choke o Pertronix Flamethrower Distributor o Eddelbrock valve covers - PST Polygraphite performance bushings installed in rebuilt front and rear suspension - KYB Shocks installed - Dual exhaust with turbo mufflers added.
Used 1973-1974 Monte Carlo double-hump transmission support in place of the single hump 1976 support - Transmission cooler added - Custom CAD designed gauge pod and cupholder built and added.
o Gauge pod mounts in the space where the OEM ashtray use to be o Cup holder made to set in the center console and can be removed for cleaning - Steering wheel from a 1986 Monte Carlo SS replaced the OEM steering wheel.
o A 1976 Landau dash emblem was custom machined to fit into the horn button pocket of the 1986 steering wheel for a custom look - Heavy duty door hinge bushings and stainless-steel pins that will outlast the OEM junk - A GM deluxe interior dome/map light was installed in place of the original round dome lamp.
- Lower kick panels custom drilled with speaker hole pattern so speakers could be mounted behind them - Small power amp added to the sound system along with a cd player - American Racing AR62 Outlaw II wheels replaced the original honeycomb wheels - Stainless tteel Opera window moldings from a 1973 Monte Carlo replaced the plastic moldings used in 1976 - Remote keyless entry with anti-theft alarm installed - Optima battery - High output alternator This is one of the cleanest and most optioned Monte Carlo you will own.
Along with the added performance items listed this car is fun to drive and is a head-turner.
Don't buy this if you don't want people to talk to you when you're filling it with gas or take it for a spin.
So many people have fond memories of a friend, family member, or themselves owning a Monte Carlo.
The Monte Carlo is like the American Bison, once they were everywhere, now there are just a few survivors like this one.
