Controller Type:

Summary of Position:
As a Controller, you will be responsible for managing the daily, monthly, and annual responsibilities of the the accounting department.
Duties &
Responsibilities:
Coordinate Company financial planning and budget management.
Responsible for cash management, forecasting and budgeting, and Company spending and profitability.
Oversee daily operations of the accounting department.
Develop and implement controls and processes to improve the accounting functions for the Company.
Coordinate monthly close and financial statement preparation.
Prepare and review journal entries.
Prepare reconciliations of accounts and resolve any discrepancies Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements.
Establish and implement short- and long-range departmental goals & objectives.
Maintain an organizational structure and staffing to effectively accomplish the department's goals and objectives of accurate and efficient financial management and accounting.
Coordinate financial audits and tax preparation with external auditors.
DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE Bachelor degree in Finance or Accounting (or related field).
CPA preferred with 3-5 years of experience.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and non-profit accounting.
Retail and cost accounting experience is beneficial.
Proficient with QuickBooks and Excel.
Experience meeting deadlines while simultaneously managing several projects.
