Summary:
Your primary responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
Developing and implementing fundraising goals, strategies, major fundraising events, and programs to fund the operational budget, capital campaigns, and future endowment for Brookwood in Georgetown.
Fosters relationships with the goal of retaining current donors and strategically seeking new partnerships or relationships with foundations, corporations, and other key external stakeholders.
Developing and implementing marketing strategies, programs, and procedures with the aim of broadening our donor base in the greater Austin area.
Managing the Advancement Department staff to accomplish these strategies in compliance with all Brookwood in Georgetown policies and values.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Participates with the Executive Director, Senior Leadership, and Board to define BiG's mission, strategic goals, and funding needs:
operational, capital and endowment.
Translates those needs into achievable strategies for the Advancement Department.
Responsible for leading a culture of excellence in the Advancement program.
Coordinates with all BiG departments and staff to provide general oversight of BiG's fund advancement, marketing activities, and fosters a culture of philanthropy within the organization.
Pursues grant opportunities that are a match for BiG's programs.
Ensures that grants are properly tracked and reports/updates are completed in a timely manner.
Ensures all grant deadlines are met.
Fosters relationships with the goal of retaining current donors and strategically seeking new partnerships or relationships with foundations, corporations, and other key external stakeholders.
Strategically expand our reach including estate, subscription and corporate giving.
Oversee staff engagement to implement successful special event fundraisers including The BiG Golf Benefit, Annual Art Auction, other fundraising activities, etc by setting strategy, engaging staff in participation, and coordinating all stakeholders in excellent execution.
Monitors Advancement department's stewardship of incoming donations, assuring donations are properly booked and reconciled with the Accounting Department.
Ensures donors are thanked and receipted, restricted donations are expended by departments as requested by donor, and reports are shared with donors as needed.
Provides guidance to managers of BiG departments as they gather and evaluate data relative to the impact of restricted donations on the mission's programs and assists these managers in the preparing of interim and/or final reports and documentation requested by the donors.
Oversees the volunteer program, working with the volunteer coordinator to ensure volunteers are successfully recruited, onboarded, placed and trained in their respective departments.
Interfaces with the Board of Directors and Advisory Board by preparing specific funding campaign updates, reports, coordinating assignments and following up on completion of assignments by members of both Boards.
Represents BiG to various constituencies, often speaking to organizations in order to provide information about and promote BiG's mission.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Education and Experience - Minimum Bachelor's degree (B.
A.
) from a four-year College or University, Master's degree in a related or specialized discipline preferred; and at least five years related experience and/or training as a senior Advancement professional; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills and Abilities - Must be able to understand and embrace BiG's mission and values.
Must possess strong oral and written communications skills of both a business and personal nature.
Must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish and maintain long term relationships with individuals and organizations.
Must be able to manage complex organizations and projects; handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, as well as Donor Management Platforms.
