Customer Service Representative


Summary:
Provides prompt courteous service to customers through order taking, problem resolution, and basic technical assistances.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Other duties may be assigned.
Communicates with customers orally or in written form as necessary to provide maximum servicing of the customer's account.
Researches all aspects of customer's orders, product information, pricing, delivery schedules, and payment terms, so that orders are entered accurately.
Responsible for the accuracy of orders entered.
Fills out forms, determines charges for product requested, prepares change of address records, and issues change orders.
Maintains customer account information.
Sets up new accounts according to accounting department guidelines.
Acts as backup to main switchboard as necessary, and performs minimal clerical activities to maintain filing and data entry, and supports the sales and service efforts of the customer service department.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Requires knowledge typically acquired through:
Completion of a High school diploma or equivalent, One to three years of related experience or training; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Ability to write simple correspondence, and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists, and to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
